“If we accept that sound is vibration and we know that vibration touches every part of our physical
being, then we understand that sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in
our bodies.”
- Dr. Mitchell L. Gaynor
What is Sound Healing?
Sound Healing is an ancient practice found in many cultures and traditions around the world. Ancient civilizations used musical instruments, songs, and vocalizations to generate vibrations and sounds capable of rebalancing the body, mind, and spirit. They intuited what science now confirms: everything is energy, everything is vibration, and so are we. During a session, the sounds produced by instruments such as Tibetan and crystal bells, gongs, shamanic drums, and the voice generate harmonic vibrations that guide the mind into a state of deep relaxation. Each experience is personal and different. You may feel slight movements and levitations of the body, inner images and intuitions, or simply a deep sense of calm and centering that can last for a long time. Sound acts deeply, stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, reducing stress, promoting the release of feel-good hormones such as dopamine and oxytocin, and enhancing creativity, presence, and vitality.
